All die-hard fans of Star Wars who grow up watching these fascinating Star Wars movies will never forget this lovable robotic droid (Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid Robot). What’s more with the incoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, they will get to see this adorable astromech droid in action once again!
This has to be the ultimate personal buy or gift for any fan. This little droid is a replica of R2-D2 and is loaded with the ability to interact with humans. It can obey what you tell it to do and has some clever sayings as well.
When you’re ready to interact with the droid, all you have to do to get him to listen to you is call the character’s name. There are over 40 different voice instructions that the droid can be commanded to do.
One way that you can engage with the droid is to quiz R2-D2 about the characters that he knows. If R2-D2 likes the character, he’ll respond in the positive and if he doesn’t like the character you ask him about, he’ll let you know.
You can put him in the game mode and there are a lot of different functions that he can do. He can dance around or share some tunes with you. He’ll spin around, play games and even act as a lookout for you with his alarm warning sound.
He can even hold a beverage for you. You can command the droid to go in the direction that you want him to go in to navigate him such as by saying things like “Turn right” or other directions.
The droid has the ability to move without help from his human and can light up the beam on the front of his body. When you understand how to give him the right commands, you’ll be rewarded with a message.
He even shares messages from the movies. There is a little bit that you have to do to put him together when he arrives, but it’s not too detailed. You’ll get the body of the droid, his legs, the projector part, the sensory telescope, and the instruction book.
When assembled, the droid stands just over 15 inches in height. He has a hidden compartment, a sensor scope, microphones and even a feature that will let you know what his mood is.
The droid navigates using sonar technology coupled with location sensors. The droid does run on batteries – and since those don’t come with the purchase, you’ll have to buy some.
The Star Wars R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid Robot 2015 should not be operated outside. Adults and kids alike both love this R2-D2 droid and if you get it for your kids, you should get it for ones who are 8 or older.
